A
PERSONAL MESSAGE:
Our
objective is to provide the best legal services possible in a professional,
comfortable environment. Successful legal services is truly a "team
effort" involving the client, the attorney and staff. All of
us must work together.
The best legal results are achieved when the client is informed
and cooperative. This general information is being provided for
you at this initial stage of your case to inform you what is expected,
to emphasize the need for cooperation and to advise you of the attorney's
perspective of your legal standing in your case. We hope this may
allow you to better understand your role in the success of your
case.
We strongly believe in good communication. We would like everything
to be carefully explained and every question answered. Our professional
staff is very knowledgeable and we are proud of the quality of legal
services being offered. Please feel free to ask any questions. We
are always here to help you. Please remember, however, that only
your attorney can offer legal advice and answer questions you may
have which require providing you with legal information. If you
call and a staff member cannot answer a question you have, the question
will be referred to the attorney for response. Either the attorney
or staff member will contact you with an answer to the question.
HOW
DO I CHOOSE AN ATTORNEY?
In choosing your lawyer, you should first establish the fees he/she
will charge you. Get it in writing, so there is no dispute. Discuss
your goals for the case and your expectations of him or her. Ask
your attorney if he/she has time to work on the case, and make sure
he or she has experience in the field. Finally, be sure you both
feel comfortable with one another.
WHAT
IS MEDIATION?
Mediation is an alternative to going to court, parties are often
better off to hire a mediator to get the case settled. Going to
Court is very costly and time consuming. Meanwhile, nothing is settled
and the case continues to irritate the client. Normally in 2 or
3 sessions, most cases can be mediated. Sometimes you can save yourself
time, money, and stress.
ATTORNEY'S
FEE AND COURT COSTS?
In The United States, normally each party pays their own attorney's
fees and Court costs, unless there is a statute awarding fees. In
Idaho, cases involving "commercial transactions," can result in
the prevailing party getting attorney's fees. In all other cases,
attorney's fees are only available if the Judge decides the other
party pursued its case frivolously.
